I have got to do better with this.

It has been a long time and alot has happened in our lives. In June James left to go to Dallas,Texas for a new job with the same company he had been working for in Springfield, Mo. In August they decided to let him go from the program. He was told he could have his job back in Missouri. Then when he was going to come back he was told he no longer had a job. So we sent him to Idaho where his parents live and where we had planned on moving to at the end of the year. He got a job in Pocatello, Idaho. Him and his parents drove out to Missouri on Labor day weekend in September and got me and Farren, a giant Penske truck all of our stuff and all of our animals and we headed back to Idaho. We lived in his parents garage until october when we found a really nice house to rent in Idaho Falls. It has 5 bedrooms and 2 baths, a basement with laundry area and has two stories. We love our new house and our new ward. Right after we moved in we found out I was expecting our second child. We are due in June. Just before Christmas, James was let go from his job in Pocatello. We were devastated since we had prayed about and been confirmed that this is where we were supposed to be. My dad and step-mom came out from Missouri for Christmas and stayed with us. It was a great holiday with both families. In January he left to go to Florida for a training bootcamp to get 7 certifications in Information Technology mainly with Microsoft. The weekend he left I was knocked down the stairs by one of our dogs and badly injured my left ankle. We are blessed that no more damage was caused and that the baby was fine and unharmed during the fall. My mom flew me out to California so I could spend time with her while he was gone. Farren and I had fun in California. We planned our return flight to come back to Salt Lake City, Utah the same day James was flying into there so his parents would just have to make one trip to pick us all up. I am currently almost 19 weeks along and everything is going well. We will find out gender on February 21st which is my dad's birthday. I will try to keep this updated so everyone can follow our lives with us.

Summer 2011

I can't believe I have not posted since February. Well Farren is now almost 17 months old and is getting big. He is not quite walking yet but it is ok. We are moving next week into a duplex on the East side of Springfield here in Missouri. We are glad to be getting out of this apartment and off the 4th floor. We are in hopes of moving to Idaho in the next several months. That is where we want to make "home" on a permanent or at least very long time basis. We are going to be putting Farren in swim lessons in the fall. That is exciting to me. I will really try to post more often and update everyone. Herfe are some updated pics from Easter and such.

February 2011

It has been a long time, but I am making a more consistant effort to try to update this more often.
In December I went to California with Farren to spend with family. I left here on the 10th. James joined us very early on Christmas morning. It was Farren's first Christmas. It was cool that he was 11 months old so he was more aware of things going on. He however was NOT interested in the unwrapping portion or een in some of the gifts at that. But the boxes, bags, paer and ribbons were all awesome to him. We drove back going the northern route. We stopped in Green River Wyoming to visit my bewst firnd Caprice and her family. Caprice is like a sister to me, I call her my sister and her kids call me their aunt. We got to go out and have fun with them as they have a 15 year old daughter who watched Farren. We decided that we deffinately need to get a 15 and 12 year old. LOL They were such big helpers with Farren taking care of him and doing things so we could just relax.

For Christmas James got me/us puppies. They are English bulldogs and will serve as emotional support animals for both my depression and anxiety and James' anxiety. Mine I named Clyde and James named his little girl Pearl. They are doing very well.

January 26, 2011 was bittersweet for me. Farren turned one. It made me reflect on the past year. Not only did we not expect to alreay have him a year ago since he was not due until March, but he has grown and got bigger and progresseed far better than some expected. We are very blessed that despite being premature, he has NO issues that are common with that. We had a birthday party and had several of our friends there with us. My dad and step-mom were there as well. I made his cake and he LOVED every minute of covering himself in the frosting. I did not know what an ugly color that turquoise and orange could make when mixed together and smeared everywhere. Farren had green boogers for the rest of that day. Between Christmas and his birthday he got so many toys and things.

February 2nd we were blessed with a new niece. My step-sister had her baby. i can't wait to meet her.

I am striving to get more active and also to be able to get out and about more with Farren. I am currently looking for playgroups or meetup groups in the area. Not only do I think it would be beneficial to him but to me as well. Like I previously stated, I will deffinately be better about keeping thisw up.

Holy Update!

Ok so it has been a long time since I updated. I was on bedrest for almost 5 weeks. On January 22, 2010 I was admitted to Labor and Delivery for Preeclampsia. The plan was to keep the baby in as long as possible. I was 33 weeks 2 days. They wanted to keep him in at least 3 weeks. But they would be happy with 2. My body did not agree with that plan. On Monday 1/25/2010 my blood pressures were hitting dangerous highs. They decided to induce that night. They started the IVs and go tthe cytotek placed. My BPs continued to climb. They were planning on giving me pitocin on Tuesday and gewt it all going to get the little guy out. Tuesday morning they did an ultrasound because they didn't think they felt his head when they checked me. Well, they were right he had actually flipped transverse which is horizontal in the womb. So they consulted with my doctor who decided that a c-section would be the only way now. This was about 8 am. My doctor wanted to do another ultrasound to see exactly where he was so she knew where to cut. Well, our little gymnast had flipped completely breach now. This was actually more ideal for the c-section. They got me prepped and gave me a bunch of medications and got my spinal block and everything. Our baby was born at 9:38 a.m. at 33 weeks 6 days. He weighed 4 lbs 8 oz. He stopped breathing and went into respiratory arrest. The rushed him to the NICU so they could care for him better. He had inhaled so much fluid that he drowned himself. However, he only had the breathing tube in for a total of 8 hours and was never on supplimental oxygen. He was absolutely perfect. He was just tiny. He got jaundice which is common for preemies. After 13 days in the NICU we got to take our beautiful baby boy which we named Farren James Nielsen, home with us on February 8, 2010. Farren has grown 3 whole pounds and is now 2 months old and weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces. He is doing remarkably well for a newborn let alone a preemie. He is already holding up his head and cooing and looking at us and smiling. We are so happy with our new little addition to our family. We will try to keep posting more often.

31 weeks and STILL counting.

I am currently 31 weeks and 1 day. On December 29 I was placed on bedrest for the rest of this pregnancy. Bedrest is rather boring but it will be worth it to hold this beautiful boy. My blood pressure is going up and I have had elevated protein in my urine. They want to make sure I am not getting preeclampsia. So far the bedrest is working. They did an ultrasound on the 29th and found that he was growing 3 weeks ahead and was already 4 pounds 1 oz. We will have another ultrasound on Tuesday. I see the doctor every Tuesday. I will keep everyone posted.

29 weeks and counting

We are now 29 weeks. My blood pressures have started to go up. I will be doing a 24 hour urine collection (TMI) to check my protein. We want to check to see if I am developing pre-eclampsia which we all have a feeling might happen. We are very greatful for the health and strength that I have been blessed with in this pregnancy. We are blessed that nothing has showed up until now. We had an apointment today and baby's heartbeat was 150 which is where he tends to stay. We are unable to travel for the holidays, so we are staying here in Missouri and will spend time with my dad and step-mom. This is our 3rd Christmas together and on the 26th we will celebrate 3 years from our first date. Practically since we met since we met online and went on a blind date of sorts. I can not believe that in less than 10 weeks we will have this beautiful baby boy to hold. We have another apointment next Tuesday to check the results of the test and to check my blood pressures which I will be taking religiously this next week twice a day. We are excited and nervous as well. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.

22 weeks 5 days

We are 24 weeks today. Everything is going good. I have come to the realization that I might just have nausea all the way to the end. But, it is NOT near anything like it was th first 14 weeks. My blood pressure did spike a little for a few days but it is better now. We only have 16 weeks left til our due date however will probably be induced around 36 or 37 weeks. Depending on his lungs. James is getting very excited as well. So are our families. This is the first grandson on his side of the family. We have the nursery mostly done and I got all of his clothes pre-wahed and folded and ready to go. The only thing we still have to get for the nursery at least is a changing table and a crib matress. This time has flown by so fast. I remember those fist 16 weeks were so slow it was like each day felt like a week. But now we look at the calendar and are like wow we are 24 weeks. Wait, What? He truly is a blessing and this is truly a great time in our lives. James said that this is our last "quiet" Christmas together for many years to come. BUt I am excited for those Christmases with our children. I made the comment to James that I feel like a hippo and he said that I was the smallest, most dainty , beautiful hippo ever. Then I said that they are born at 500 lbs so what is he really saying?

It's a BOY!

We are now 20 weeks 3 days. We are happy to announce we are having a baby boy. We are so excited. I have been in California for a week. My mom and sister threw me a baby shower. Then I went to James' parents for a few days. It was very fun. James' parents bought him his first 49ers outfit since that is mine and James favorite team.
